2024-06-21

On May 21, Chengdu Television Station released a report titled Meet "Made in Chengdu", a City of Innovation in Progress (II): Sunshine Catcher for Future Light, focusing on TW Solar and fully demonstrating the advanced technologies applied by Tongwei's high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells "made in Chengdu" and their vigorous development trends in PV industrial clusters.

The report points out that Chengdu features a green and low-carbon competitive PV sector with an early start, strong foundation and sufficient stamina. Powered by leading enterprises like TW Solar, Chengdu's 100 billion-level PV industrial cluster has accelerated its rise. As the first Fortune Global 500 enterprise in the global PV sector, Tongwei has ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years in terms of cell panel shipments. The solar PV cells rolled off the production line from Chengdu are continuously sold to the global market, providing clean and stable power for countless families and enterprises.

Qi Gang from the Process Integration Department of TW Solar said in an interview that the company has been deeply engaged in technology R&D for several years. As of April this year, it had applied for more than 2,000 patents. Simultaneously, thanks to the support and preferential policies of the People's Government of Chengdu Municipality, the company has continued to strengthen its research and production and facilitate the further development of PV technology.

At present, TW Solar has Tonghe Project and Shuangliu, Meishan, Jintang and Pengshan cell production bases, with an annual capacity of 95GW, becoming the world's largest solar cell manufacturer with the largest scale of production capacity, shipment volume and the strongest profitability for seven consecutive years. Moving forward, TW Solar will continue leading the development of global solar PV intelligent manufacturing and contribute its strength to the realization of China's carbon neutrality goal.
